:D yay some people made kitna cousins for Kona!







This is fun. I dunno I just feel like... everyone gets on people's cases when their art or characters look too much like someone else's art or someone else's character. But at the bud of every artist's life, that's what we did. We saw someone's beautiful art, we were awed and inspired by their talents and decided we wanted to try to draw too. And of course you emulate. Of course it looks like what someone else has already done. I did this, I got reamed for it and defended myself like the immature little 16 year old I was at the time. People came down on me hard. And afterwards, when some people copied my art, I came down on THEM hard and now I just feel bad. Now I just feel like a stupid hypocrite for doing to people exactly as others had done to me. I feel bad that I considered them stupid and weak for denying it, cause I had done the same thing.

Now a days people feel like they have to be guarded with what they do, to make sure that what they have done is not too similar to someone else, cause or else they know they could come under attack.

And I know it's hurtful when you have created something you're very proud of, you spend hours and hours and come up with something really great and original. And it feels like a slap in the face for someone to just go "wow that's cool" and do practically the same thing. It's like they're just snatching away the hours and hours you spent and showcasing it as if they had put the kind of heart you did into it. And it's hard to take something that makes you feel that way as a "form of flattery" as people put it. But it really is just someone who thinks what you have created is great, and wants to be like you. No one is meaning to hurt anyone.

It took me time to let it go, but now I see how perfect it can be, to just offer your ideas to people so that they can take something they think is cool and build it into something of their own. All the sudden this wretched misconduct turns into something exciting and enjoyable, for me at least!



I'm still in Columbus, Ohio. We are starting a new animal show at the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium. Our set is still incomplete, but most of our animals are ready to go. Hopefully shows will start soon! We have already done a couple mini shows for some big zoo sponsors with costumes makeup lights and music, and those went REAL well. So hopefully it will kick off to a good start! Also, we got the schedule for 101 Dalmatians the Musical and we're going to a LOT of different cities! Way more cities than I anticipated and looking at some of the theatres online, they're HUGE and just beautiful. I think this is going to be a way bigger production than I thought it was gonna be. I cannot wait for it to start.

Anyway. Even though the Harvesters have been considered dead, I never really stopped writing. I have pages and pages and pages of novel-like story on the Harvesters, and after my recent rediscovery of a lot of Harvester stuff, I want to really crack down and start completing and polishing what I have. If I did that and posted lit deviations would you guys read it or no?
